Dear Priya,
The changing seasons can run havoc on our nervous and immune
systems, that's the reason Fall is the high flu season. This is the time when the seasons are in
confusion, is it hot, is it cold, is it windy, is it rainy... anything goes in
terms of the climate and as a result the body suffers.
To strengthen the body against low immunity, some people get
flu shots or some people uptake their vitamin C intake. This year why not try the natural and most enjoyable way to strengthen your immune system through Ayurveda!

Introducing
Our Ayurvedic Clinical Therapists
La'vanya is really excited
to introduce our wonderful ayurveda therapists, Raashi Naidu and David Ray. They both have been trained and practice Sri Sri Ayurveda, which is a
modality that prides on authenticity and facilitates physical, mental and
spiritual healing.
Meet Raashi Naidu
Raashi finds Ayurveda the perfect line of
work for her since she can make a living by facilitating balance, health and
joy in others. She finds that when a conscious intention and touch of a
therapist is accompanied by the already powerful ayurveda treatments, it can
facilitate an even deeper and a more multi dimensional healing process. Raashi
specialties are Abhyanga (Full Body Oil Massage), Shirodhara, Karna Purna, Katti Basti, etc.
Meet David Ray
David Ray took Sri Sri
Ayurveda's "technician" training program at the Art of Living retreat

Perfect Time for Panchakarma & Ayurvedic Cleanse
|
|
In India,
Vijayadashmi ('Vijay' meaning 'victory' and 'Dashmi meaning 'tenth day) is
celebrated in the month of September as the season's change. The festival is
dedicated to the worship of Mother Goddess or Shakti and her nine forms. This
season is considered to be an auspicious one as it is generally associated with
the sowing of seeds.
It is the perfect time to cleanse and bring the body with the mind back into
balance. In Ayurveda, we use Panchakarma as a method of accomplishing
harmony and vitality within by using your own energy efficiently.
WHAT IS IT: Panchakarma is a cleansing, detoxifying and rejuvenating program
that reverses the degenerative processes and brings vitality.
GOAL: Removes toxins stored in the deeper tissues and enables the body to
use energy efficiently. Panchakarma awakens the appropriate digestive
fires to loosen impurities within the internal body and cleanses the tissue
layers while releasing deeply held emotional tensions.
WHO NEEDS IT: Anyone dealing with stress, insomnia, fatigue, restlessness,
environmental pollutants, poor diet and lifestyle choices.
BENEFITS: Improves vigor and well-being, strength, energy,
vitality. Strengthens the immune system and restores your body's balanced
state while giving deep relaxation. Skin and body becomes clearer and brighter.

The Delightful Way to Increase Immunity
The combination of Abhyanga and Shirodhara is a dynamite
tool against low immunity. Abhyanga is
the full body oil massage, which in the ancient days was reserved for royalty.
So, not only does this treatment mobilize your lymphatic system, release
toxins, nourish your largest organ (the skin), you also feel like royalty receiving it.
In Shirodhara the scalp, the forehead and the third eye
receive a gentle and caressing massage by a stream of warm oil. This
deceptively simple technique brings clarity, centeredness and profound bliss. We practice a special and more comprehensive
technique of Shirodhara, where the specific patterns stimulate the different
marma points all over the head and as a result affecting the entire body and
nervous system. So, during these climate
confusion drop by La'Vanya for a luscious tune up.

Self Abhyanga - Self Oil
Massage
If you're feeling over
heated by these hot summer days, in the evening warm up some coconut oil and apply
oil from your head to toe. Keep the oil
on for a little while and take a warm or hot shower or bath (not cold) afterwards. You may end the shower with a burst of cold
water if it's really warm outside. If you're not feeling over heated, but
scattered and ungrounded try warm sesame oil. The coconut oil is cooling to the
system and sesame has a warming effect.
